Okay, so i'm thinking of doing commissions (and of abusing the one-day free premium membership by having a sweet journal page with anime girls). Since i'm not really familiar with dA's points system, its economy seems like a confusing mess with arbitrary prices in an ever-increasing range. That said, i'll try to set what i find reasonable. And keep in mind, i'm still a newbie, especially when it comes to backgrounds. Obviously, the more detailed, the more time it will take. This isn't going to be one of my most uplifting entries, but on the other hand i will try to keep it short. Contrary to common conception, there isn't always a need for optimism. When laughter, sunshine and the anticipations of spring permeate the air, a new sense of alienation weighs down on the shoulders of the excluded pessimist. The person who sits alone on the park bench, leaving a dark trail in his wake, if any trace at all. Thinking the avoidance might stem from him being so detached and unapproachable, he tries to make contact, but all that is returned is a repulsion of his melancholic attitude. No one wants to listen. Quite recently, I listened to a podcast featuring Brian Cox*, (-an enthusiastic particle physicist, and perhaps BBC's new David Attenborough-) which somewhat rekindled my interest in the similarities of the creative processes in science and art. So I thought I might share some thoughts here... While recognizing the widely different aims of these endeavors, I think Brian had some good points when mentioning that theoretical parts of science often include aesthetics (eg. symmetries in physics), and that design of theory often includes pleasing the artistic sense.
